I'm a city girl
Sunday, September 20, 2009 at 9:32PM Last night I got off of babysitting early and I met up with @angilio at West End Bar and Grill. It was probably one of the best nights ever because this place was prime people watching territory. I sat at the bar with @angilio, Mandy, and Jessi and behind us were the most stereotypical suburbs women I'd ever seen. They were all dressed up and were enjoying their night in the big city. However, their idea of dressed up was reminiscent of Drew Barrymore in Never Been Kissed, bad perms and scrunchies included. To make matters worse half of the women were either engaged or married and by the end of the night their drunk asses were making out with new haircuts.
The burbs ladies:
At one point in the evening the song Single Ladies by Beyonce came on and the burbs women went crazy. Apparently out of all the songs played during the evening Single Ladies is the only one they listen to when they are driving their teenagers to school in their mini van.
So @angilio and I started singing the song but we replaced certain words in the chorus with suburb names. About halfway through the song we ran out of names...I guess we don't get out there much.
"wo oh ooh oh oh oorland park oh oh
la la la la lagrange oh oh oh
woo oh ooh oh oh ooooak brook
All the schaumburg ladies
Now put your hands up
woo oh ooh oh oh ooh oh oh ooh
ga ga gary indiana oh oh oh"
The evening was priceless to say the least and it only confirmed that I don't want to move to the suburbs...ever.
