I'll admit it...I have a rat problem in my house. And while I don't necessarily mind the destruction the rat has done so far (mainly he's eaten a few of Bryan's shirts, once it touches my clothing I'm declaring war) I'm bothered by my dogs' reaction to the rat. On a daily basis I'll see the rat out of the corner of my eye and so will Hannity. His eyes will follow it across the floor as the rat goes to pick a piece of food out of the dogs' bowl. He doesn't care that another animal has stolen his food, in fact I swear I've seen Opie quickly nod her head at the rat as if to say "sup?."

This has to stop. This rat is going down. Our so was my thinking this weekend.

To start off, I stopped by Barker & Meowsky, one of my favorite pet boutiques in Lakeview. While I was there I decided to pick up a tough toy for the pups. I noticed that they had a toy rat so I thought what better way to teach my dogs to kill the rat in the house then to "educate" them with toys. I figured they'd tear the toy apart (just like they always do) and then they'd turn on the rat and destroy that too. No such luck. After the initial excitement of the new toy, both dogs have now made this toy "their baby." They cuddle with it, drag it from room to room and last night Opie slept with it under the covers. It seems my first plan has reversed itself.

Then, Bryan bought super rat traps, like the ones you'd see in cartoons that were made by ACME and they'd be used to catch the roadrunner (beep beep). The first few nights we have set the traps in different places that we know the rat goes and every morning I would wake up chipper thinking "this is gonna be THE day." Nope. I woke up this morning and the rat had eaten all the peanut butter off of the trap without setting it off.

I have now convinced myself that this is some sort of magic voodoo rat that can become invisible and control the minds of my dogs. This is the obviously the only explanation.

She just stayed curled up on the couch. Didn't move. Didn't blink. On average most people would watch her for 16.5 seconds, one guy even stayed on for 2 minutes before we nexted him.

Then Hannity made his appearance.

Hannity was a little more animated. He would blink, wiggle his ears, and lick the floor but apparently people weren't amused. On average people watched Hannity for 1.5 seconds. He did get to meet a fish though...

So I guess we have our answer. The pugglez is officially cuter than Hannity. I guess Kanye was right.

So I caved...I bought the iPad on Saturday. Bryan and I split it but technically it's an early birthday present.

My thoughts so far...
1) Typing isn't that hard but it will take some getting used to, just like the iPhone did. (BTW I wrote this entire post on the iPad in less than 10 minutes.)
2) I wish the iPad had multiple user accounts like a computer. Bryan and I have both been using it in the house but the iPad stores all my data (email, contacts, photos) not his. If we had 2 accounts we could have both of our info and keep it separate.
3) Battery life is great. I haven't charged it yet and I have 66% left.
4) They seriously need cuter cases. I got a incase basic leather book cover that makes me look like a lawyer. Hopefully better cases come out soon.
5) I can't wait for magazines to make an appearance on the iPad. Imagine having a subscription to Lucky magazine and reading it with links to all the shops. Sounds like heaven.

In other news...I finished decorating the second bedroom after Kyle left on Saturday. I built a bed from Ikea, painted the room, and hung all my new artwork. I love it, it feels like a cozy room I can sew, read, and cuddle with the pups in.
